fridleyFridley may be Minneapolis-St. Paul’s best kept secret. Conveniently located 10 minutes north of downtown Minneapolis and 20 minutes northwest of downtown St. Paul, Fridley is the perfect hub for your trip to the area.

If you’re planning a move to this region, check out Fridley for its small town feel. It’s not just a feeling either; the numbers confirm it. In 2014, the population was estimated at 27,670. Yet don’t let the numbers fool you into thinking small towns mean you get less for your money. According to a 2013 survey of residents, Fridley offers excellent city services, breathtaking parks and Mississippi River trails, and private and public schools including a K-12 International Baccalaureate school district.

When you’re ready to leave the small town for some big city excitement, head into Minneapolis-St. Paul for memorable restaurants (20 appeared on Diner’s, Drive-ins and Dives) or entertainment at the many museums or Xcel Energy Center, home to the Minnesota Wild (hockey) and Minnesota Swarm (lacrosse), and host to a constant offering of music and other entertaining events. If shopping is your passion, you will no doubt find everything you’re looking for at the nation’s largest mall (over 500 stores), the Mall of America.

There’s also plenty for the children to do in the Twin Cities. On the science side, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory and Children’s and Science Museums offer plenty of opportunities for repeat visits. On the history side, Fort Snelling gives a taste of frontier life, while the Minnesota History Center explores Minnesota’s heritage and past.

Fridley is a great place to make your home; great neighbors, close enough to the big cities, but far enough away to escape the rat race.
