This is a hands-on, two-day textile workshop at the Gammelgården Museum of Scandia where participants make a traditional Swedish kjolväskor (skirt pocket or purse) using applique and embroidered decoration. Taught by Natalie Norman, an experienced cultural needleworker and instructor whose embroidered work has been exhibited and supported by Scandinavian cultural organizations, the class combines historical folk-dräkt techniques with practical sewing skills for contemporary use. The workshop takes place on the museum grounds in Scandia, Minnesota, and emphasizes both craft instruction and cultural heritage interpretation.
